Meanwhile, on the timeline of Earth 69....Camille St. Pierre was just another student attending GEU. She was studying business (with a minor in electrical engineering) and lived a life of luxury, as her parents ran a tech company but died when she was young. Then one fateful day, what has become known as the Rift opened above GE City as a cataclysmic war erupted in the skies, as hero and villain alike fought against an alien threat. In a few days, the aliens were pushed back and the Rift closed, but things had changed in the city. The city had been devastated, and while rebuilding was standard, it came out that many had latent powers that emerged. Camille was one of them, becoming a telepath. A compassionate person by nature, she decided to use these powers to help those less fortunate. Dubbed the Scarlet Angel by the media in reference to her costume and her public image, she uses a two pronged approach that sees her pump her company’s money into the local economy (thus depriving many villains of desperate citizens that they recruit as henchmen) into standard superheroics. Most people don’t know that she is Scarlet Angel, as she hides behind the image of a dilettante who focuses her time on running her tech company and funding many charities throughout GE City. However, there is a side of hers that no one gets to see. One night, she tried to stop a burglary being committed by the dark elf known as Coyote. The target: her own company’s R&D department. He was in the middle of stealing a weapon, which infuriated her even further as she had explicity banned the creation of weaponry due to the tendency for such weapons to fall into the hands of supervillains. He easily had the upper hand on her due to his 600 years of combat experience, but instead of acting as most villains would (beat her to a pulp, killing and/or raping her) he merely toyed with her. Rather than pressing the advantage after dodging her blows and shurgging off her psychic attacks, he would taunt her or give her a swat on the butt. He stopped as the clock struck midnight, and then asked her if she’d like to help stop a robbery by one of the biggest villains in the city.?
